Hello and welcome!

This site combines GIS and VRML to display 3D models of planets and moons on the internet. You will need a VRML plug-in to view the 3D worlds, but there are several available and they are free for personal use. Click on the Links tab to the left for compatible plug-ins for various computer platforms.

VRML (Virtual Reality Modeling Language) is a markup language for building and displaying 3D models on the web, and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) is the science of using computer systems to organize and display geographic features and attributes. Together, they give us the ability to bring the surface of alien worlds to our desktops.

Throughout this site are various 3D models of the moon, Mars and other VRML objects that I've built over the years. If you have any questions, suggestions, or comments, feel free to email me at ecubed@3dversion.com.
